How Honeylove Beats All Other Shapewear Hands Down

Between returning to the office, hanging out with my friends more, and the impending wedding season, I’m in desperate need of some new shapewear.

While I know I need it, knowing where to find it is a whole different story. It feels like everywhere I turn there’s an upstart brand promoting revolutionary fits, cuts, and ways to smooth and lift your body. I don’t want to waste time and money sampling a ton of brands that offer something different, but I need to find something that works - and soon!

After an exhaustive search, I decided to try out two brands I’ve seen all over my Instagram: Honeylove and Spanx.

Key Similarities

  • Both aim to provide comfort
  • Both have inclusive sizing from XS - 3X
  • Both offer various types of shape solutions
  • Both are committed to making women feel confident and sexy
  • Both have shape solutions and apparel options

Key Differences

  • Honeylove is hyper-focused on Sculptwear
  • Spanx has options for men, maternity, and other niche needs
  • Honeylove’s SoftFlex technology smooths you out in all the right places and helps avoid any rolling
  • Spanx has different shaping options like smooth, shape, and sculpt

Honeylove

Honeylove believes women deserve garments that are just as comfortable as they are effective — without sacrificing style.

I tried out their SuperPower Short and let me say – I had no idea my waist could be so small! The short uses flexible boning so there’s no poking or pinching, and it smoothes literally everything. It was a serious waist-snatching-hip-smoothing miracle!

This incredible support provides next-level comfort. I wore it into the office and even in my far less-than ergonomic chair, my SuperPower Short stayed put! It has compression in all the right places, never rolled down, and it doesn’t grind against my spine like other shapewear I’ve tried.

Plus, I felt super sexy in their Runway color (black and mesh) and can’t wait to get more. Honeyloveclearly knows what they’re doing.

Spanx

With their focus on fixing wardrobe woes, Spanx is tried and true. Their line-up has compression and supportive styles that go way beyond mere shapewear. Spanx’s website features bras, leggings, pants, denim, and shapewear.

I dug through their site and went with their bestselling OnCore High-Waisted Mid-Thigh Short. I wanted to have a solid comparison between them and Honeylove.

I can certainly see why Spanx has been around for so long. The fit was great and it has super effective side-paneling so there’s no squeezing. The short was comfortable, yet supportive, and when I wore it under my classic LBD for girl’s night it tucked everything in.

I will say, there was a little bit of rolling as the night wore on and a few lines at times, but it still got the job done! Plus, while I was looking at shapewear, I did see some denim I might need to try out in the future…

Final Thoughts

This turned out to be harder than I thought. Both brands are clearly committed to making products that provide support and help women feel confident and sexy.

While Spanx has definitely paid its dues and earned its position in the shapewear conversation, frankly, it’s lackluster to me.

It was Honeylove’s SoftFlex structure that beat out Spanx! From sturdy side-boning that ensures zero roll down to the X design that perfectly shapes without crushing me, I’m actually excited to wear my SuperPower Short.

If you’re looking for Sculptwear that holds its shape, then you must-must- must check out Honeylove. Honeylove’s pieces move with you, are totally effortless, and are sure to have every woman loving the way she looks - I know I do!
