We've all seen those videos online of someone applying mascara, with their lashes looking insanely long, claiming "this product is life-changing." We all know they're just naturally blessed, but I still wish mascara could really make that much of a difference for me.
I've pretty much been using the same brand for years. I've tried a few different ones here and thereafter caving to the hype, but they never work as well as I'd hoped, and I always wind up going back to the same old drug store one.
For my last birthday I was gifted yet another new mascara from my best friend Amy. It was by Thrive Causemetics, their Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara™. I hadn't heard of this brand before, but I figured it wouldn't be any different to any other I'd tried–no matter what my eyelashes were my eyelashes.
Amy insisted I needed to try it, it's won awards like the Allure 2020 Best of Beauty Awards for Best Tubing Mascara.
I thanked her and politely said I'd been looking for new mascara even though the one I always used still did the job. Still, I was intrigued so I decided to put on the Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara to the test.
The first thing I noticed was the shade. It's a neutral-toned, brown-black color, not the usual intense black mascara I was used to. It was refreshing–I'd tried brown mascaras before but found them to be too light, but this one was the perfect in-between color. I like it! Brown-black mascara is super flattering on all skin tones.
The wand is easy to use–not too fluffy that it caused a mess or excess product application like I'd found using other brands. When I was finished applying it I really liked how it looked on me - the shade, the consistency (not clumpy at all). And the length? Amazing! They looked almost like fake lashes.
Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara has a completely unique formula. It includes impressive ingredients like Orchid Stem Cell Complex™, Flake Free Tubing Technology™, Youth B5 Complex™, Caster Seed Oil and Shea Butter. These ingredients promote growth and moisturize, condition, and strengthen your follicles. My eyes can be overly sensitive sometimes, but the Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara™ is super gentle.
I didn't really buy into the lengthening thing because let's face it, it's mascara, not a miracle worker. But after about 6 weeks of using I noticed that my natural lashes looked a little fuller and healthier. It was subtle, but it was there and they looked even longer with the Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara applied. I couldn't believe there was such a thing as mascara that helps your lashes grow, too.
After that, I Googled Thrive Causemetics that evening to see what other products they have.
Turns out, Thrive Causemetics is cruelty-free, and 100% vegan, formulated without parabens, sulfates or latex. I'm trying to cut down on as many harmful ingredients this year as I can, but I'm always wary of making the switch to more ethical products- will they give me the same results?
I'd tried some vegan makeup brands in the past but couldn't find any that suited me or were effective. But after doing some more research I realized the mascara I had been using for years unfortunately is not cruelty-free. There are so many big-name brands out there that still test on animals, and I just can't support it anymore.
Overall, Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara™ is really on another level. I have it in both colors now–Brown Black for daily use, and Rich Black for when I want a more dramatic look. They also have a subscription option that will deliver every 1,2, 3 or 4 months, so you never have to worry about running out. Did I mention that it comes off using just warm water and a washcloth? Such a lifesaver. Lastly, for every product purchased, Thrive Causemetics donates to causes that help a woman thrive.
I just ordered their Infinity Waterproof Eyeliner™, too. It's smudge-proof, budge-proof, and sets in 30 seconds–I'm always running out the door, and now I won't have to worry about that annoying black line messing up my eyeshadow! Like all Thrive Causemetics products, it has stellar reviews and I can't wait to try it.
I feel so much better now that I'm using cruelty-free makeup and vegan products. Plus, the makeup has ingredients that are actually good for me. If you're looking for a new mascara, or any beauty product, I'd recommend Thrive Causemetics. Be a part of the cruelty-free beauty movement.
