We missed the personalization and service aspect of Picnic, but we were able to make our own decisions and skip the fee. However, if your local spot is out of the generic versions of common brands, you’re going to be paying a higher price for the name-brand items like Allegra ® which have the same percentages of effective ingredients as the generic options.
Unless you study beforehand or have great wifi in the allergy aisle, you’re also not going to be able to research everything about a certain brand before you buy it; oftentimes its interactions with other medications or likelihood to produce common side effects like drowsiness or dizziness will be revealed on the inside of the package. And these days, each brand has 50 different versions of the same medication, sometimes in different levels of effectiveness or methods of administration.
We like the freedom to roam the allergy aisle, but it can be overwhelming.
