Drizly Vs. Minibar: Who Came Out On Top?

We compared the 2 biggest alcohol delivery services.

The surge in demand for delivery services has really shown that people like to get what they need and want delivered to their door.

It makes sense; our schedules are packed and when we are trying to restrict our contacts, so it's the perfect option.

Lately, more and more people have been using convenient delivery services for alcohol, too. We love going to the liquor store, browsing the new wines or craft beers, and seeing the best deals. But delivery can be a life-saver when we're on the run all day or when you forgot your friends are coming over and you have the snacks but no drinks.

Because we're new to alcohol delivery services, we compared Drizlyand Minibar, two of the most popular alcohol delivery service providers to learn more.

Drizly

Drizly was established in 2012 to provide a more convenient and seamless method of delivering alcohol right to your door. It's now the largest and fastest-growing company in this space, servicing more than 220 regions all across the US and Canada. With the highest geographical presence, if there is an alcohol delivery service in your area, it's probably Drizly.

Drizly's app and website are well-designed and most of all user-friendly. It offers one of the most intuitive and organized shopping experiences online. It's easy to find exactly what you want, but if you're here to explore and discover new products to try, you can filter by alcohol category, price, and store. The results page labels any active deals, best sellers, and staff picks, and also shows customer ratings.

Once you find what you want, you can choose your size, store, and delivery method. Drizly lets you look at the inventory of all of your local liquor stores in your area in one place, so you get the widest selection to find exactly what you want. You can also compare prices between two or more stores to make sure you're getting the best deal.

Drizly offers over 2,000 products including beer, wine, liquor, and extras like soda, mixers, non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks.

The app and website both display your past purchases at the top of the page, letting you reorder your favorites in seconds. Most Drizly orders get delivered in 60 minutes with some even quicker according to customer reviews. You can also schedule a delivery for later, if you don't want it to come quite so quickly.

Minibar

Minibar joined the market in 2014 and has expanded to service 90 markets.

After using Drizly we noticed the Minibar website and app were hard to navigate and find what we really wanted since the excessive filters felt overwhelming and cluttered. Their website also provides very little information about who they are and what they do.

The website and app make it hard to fully discover what they carry because you are asked to enter your address before viewing anything. With less availability, your location will greatly determine the alcohol on offer to you. This also affects the price, with less choice and lack of regions the price in your area could be higher than expected.

On Minibar instead of a brand, you can sort through local vineyards. Minibar also offers a special program called Vineyard Select to offer exclusive curated collections.

Overall Verdict

After trying out both alcohol delivery services we realized the real benefits; they provide a huge selection, introduce you to new varieties, make it quick and easy to find an exact wine, beer, or liquor, and you can do it all while never leaving your home. Another highlight is that you are still supporting your local stores, as Drizly and Minibar partner with them to source and deliver your products.

But will it be Drizly or Minibar that we will be ordering from again (and again)?

It has to be Drizly. Although they both send drinks directly to your door, these two popular services differ in their delivery zones, extra fees, and online shopping experiences.

If you're looking for a large selection of alcohol and local store options with the best and most competitive prices, enjoyable shopping experience, straightforward delivery fees, and delivery options as quick as 60 minutes, Drizly is for you.
