Here's Why Our Editors Are Obsessed With Atlas Coffee Club

Coffee makes the world go 'round. It's practically a necessity and it helps that it's super delicious. But so many of us are still drinking the basic blah coffee.

If you're looking to up your coffee game and make your daily cup of joe even more enjoyable, we've got you covered: meet Atlas Coffee Club. It's a coffee subscription service that sends you roasted single-origin coffee beans from all around the world! Journey to Ethiopia one month, India the next, then onto Ecuador, Papua New Guinea, Burundi and beyond...

Here's what 3 of our coffee-loving editors like the most about Atlas:

The Everyday Drinker

Favorite Feature: The Quality

Experience: I've been drinking coffee since I was 20 years old. I used to have to wake up at 5 am for work, so coffee has become a daily must have….and that also means I've drunk a lot of terrible coffee.

For a while, I thought, coffee's coffee and as long as there's caffeine, I'm fine, but now that I'm getting older, I don't really want to have to hold my nose through a cup.

I started brewing coffee at home recently, but everything tasted burnt. My sister got me an Atlas Coffee Club subscription for the holidays, and that's when I realized I'd been drinking coffee wrong my whole life. These are the top 1% of coffees in the world, and with their brewing instructions, I was finally able to make delicious coffee at home.

I used to add milk and sugar, but this coffee is so good, I often drink it black.

The Coffee Lover

Favorite Feature: Single-Origin Variety

Experience: My friends make fun of me, but I'm the pretentious one about coffee. I like tasting it for the different notes of chocolate, honey or citrus. My nearest grocery store carries a pretty limited selection, and I stuck to the same few brands, but I got bored after a while. When I heard about Atlas, I signed up immediately.

You can select Light to Medium Roasts, Medium to Dark Roasts, or All Roasts, and whole bean or ground coffee. I chose whole so I could grind it myself, with Medium to Dark Roasts since my preferences skew on the darker side.

So far, every bag has been incredible. My favorite has been the bag from Kenya, which is apparently attributed to the country's rich volcanic soil. I also love that each shipment comes with a postcard from the origin country — it's fun to hang it on the fridge and see all my "coffee journeys" lined up.

The Ethical Buyer

Favorite Feature: The Bags

Experience: I try to be as environmentally friendly and ethical with my purchases as possible, and for a while that meant getting coffee in bulk. Unfortunately, the coffee I was getting tasted like garbage.

I wanted to see if there was another solution, and I was happy to find Atlas Coffee Club. They focus on sustainability at the farm level, and partner with passionate coffee farmers to use best-in-class coffee farming tools and techniques so they can continue to grow super high quality coffee year after year.

They even work directly with coffee communities around the world — for example, Atlas helped to build a school in Guatemala, and they always pay farmers above Fair Trade prices so they can continue to invest in both their crops and their local communities.

Also, I reuse every bag! The patterns and colors are so great that I save them to upcycle into collages, planters, and more. Each bag is inspired by local landscapes and wildlife, so I like being able to hold on to that connection to my coffee's origins.

If you want high-quality coffee that you can feel good about (and won't get tired of), try a world tour of coffee from Atlas Coffee Club. Starting at $9 a bag, you can get 6-24 oz. every 2 or 4 weeks, depending on your consumption(also makes a fantastic gift!)
